ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܚܝ ܕܡܥܠܢܢ ܕܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܣܪܝܩܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ
hw' sryq'yth hw' l' dlwthkwn dmelnn 'khy 'nthwn ydeyn w'nthwn
For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you wasn’t in vain,

ܐܠܐ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܚܫܢܢ ܘܐܨܛܥܪܢܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܝܕܥܝܬܘܢ ܒܦܝܠܝܦܘܣ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܒܐܓܘܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܡܠܠܢ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܒܦܪܗܣܝܐ ܕܐܠܗܢ ܣܒܪܬܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ
dmshykh' sbrthh d'lhn bprhsy' emkwn mlln rb' b'gwn' whydyn bpylypws dydeythwn 'yk w'tsTernn khshnn lwqdm 'l'
but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.

ܒܘܝܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܛܥܝܘܬܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܡܢ ܛܢܦܘܬܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܒܢܟܠܐ
bnkl' 'pl' Tnpwth' mn 'pl' Teywth' mn hw' l' gyr bwy'n
For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception.

ܐܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܐ ܕܒܩܝܢܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܕܬܬܗܝܡܢ ܣܒܪܬܗ ܗܟܢܐ ܡܡܠܠܝܢܢ ܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܒܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܢܫܦܪ ܐܠܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܩܐ ܠܒܘܬܢ
lbwthn dbq' hw l'lh' 'l' nshpr 'nsh' dlbny 'yk l' mmllynn hkn' sbrthh dththhymn l'lh' dbqynn m' 'yk 'l'
But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts.

ܐܦܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܡܬܘܡ ܐܬܚܫܚܢ ܒܡܡܠܠܐ ܫܕܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܒܥܠܬܐ ܕܝܥܢܘܬܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܣܗܕ
shd 'lh' dyenwth' belth' wl' 'nthwn dydeyn 'yk shdl' bmmll' 'thkhshkhn mmthwm gyr 'pl'
For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness (God is witness),

ܘܠܐ ܒܥܝܢ ܫܘܒܚܐ ܡܢ ܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܠܐ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܡܢ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܟܕ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܝܩܝܪܐ ܠܡܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܫܠܝܚܐ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ
dmshykh' shlykh' 'yk lmhw' yqyr' hwyn mshkkhyn kd 'khrn' mn wl' mnkwn l' bnynsh' mn shwbkh' beyn wl'
nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.

ܐܠܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܒܝܢܬܟܘܢ ܡܟܝܟܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܡܪܒܝܢܝܬܐ ܕܡܚܒܒܐ ܒܢܝܗ
bnyh dmkhbb' mrbynyth' w'yk mkyk' bynthkwn hwyn 'l'
But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܡܚܒܒܝܢܢ ܘܡܣܘܚܝܢܢ ܠܡܬܠ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܣܒܪܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܢܦܫܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܒܝܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn dkhbybyn mTl npshn 'p 'l' d'lh' sbrthh blkhwd l' lkwn lmthl wmswkhynn mkhbbynn khnn 'p hkn'
Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you, not the Good News of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us.

ܥܗܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܚܝܢ ܕܠܐܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܘܥܡܠܝܢ ܒܥܒܕ ܐܝܕܝܢ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܘܒܐܝܡܡܐ ܕܥܠ ܚܕ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܢܐܩܪ
n'qr l' mnkwn khd del wb'ymm' blly' 'ydyn bebd wemlyn hwyn dl'yn 'khyn gyr 'nthwn ehdyn
For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of God.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܣܗܕܝܢ ܘܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܟܪܙܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܣܒܪܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܟܝܐܝܬ ܘܟܐܢܐܝܬ ܘܕܠܐ ܪܫܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܠܘܬ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܗܝܡܢܐ
mhymn' klhwn lwth hwyn rshyn wdl' wk'n'yth dky'yth d'lh' sbrthh lkwn 'krzn 'ykn' w'lh' shdyn 'nthwn
You are witnesses with God, how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܚܕ ܚܕ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܐܒܐ ܡܢ ܒܢܘܗܝ ܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܘܡܠܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܒܠܒܟܘܢ ܘܡܣܗܕܝܢܢ ܠܟܘܢ
lkwn wmshdynn blbkwn hwyn wmlyn hwyn beyn bnwhy mn 'b' 'yk mnkwn khd khd dmn 'nthwn dydeyn 'ykn'
As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children,

ܕܬܗܠܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܝܐܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܕܩܪܟܘܢ ܠܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܘܠܫܘܒܚܗ
wlshwbkhh lmlkwthh dqrkwn hw l'lh' dy'' 'yk dthhlkwn
to the end that you should walk worthily of God, who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܡܘܕܝܢܢ ܐܡܝܢܐܝܬ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܕܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܩܒܠܬܘܢ ܡܢܢ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܩܒܠܬܘܢܗ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܝܬܝܗ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܗܝ ܒܥܒܕܐ ܡܣܬܥܪܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܒܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ
dmhymnyn b'ylyn bkwn msther' bebd' why d'lh' mlth' shryr'yth d'ythyh 'ykn' 'l' qblthwnh dbnynsh' mlth' 'yk hw' l' mnn dqblthwn d'lh' dmlth' l'lh' 'myn'yth mwdynn khnn 'p hn' mTl
For this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also works in you who believe.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝ ܐܬܕܡܝܬܘܢ ܠܥܕܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܒܝܗܘܕ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܗܟܢ ܣܝܒܪܬܘܢ ܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܒܢܝ ܫܪܒܬܟܘܢ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܗܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܝܗܘܕܝܐ
yhwdy' mn hnwn d'p 'ykn' shrbthkwn bny mn 'nthwn 'p sybrthwn dhkn mshykh' dbyshwe hlyn dbyhwd d'lh' ledth' 'thdmythwn 'khy dyn 'nthwn
For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews;

ܗܢܘܢ ܕܠܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܩܛܠܘ ܘܠܢܒܝܐ ܕܡܢܗܘܢ ܘܠܢ ܪܕܦܘ ܘܠܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܫܦܪܝܢ ܘܥܒܝܕܝܢ ܣܩܘܒܠܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ
'nsh' bny lklhwn sqwbl' webydyn shpryn l' wl'lh' rdpw wln dmnhwn wlnby' qTlw mshykh' yshwe dlmrn hnwn
who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and drove us out, and didn’t please God, and are contrary to all men;

ܕܟܠܝܢ ܠܢ ܕܢܡܠܠ ܥܡ ܥܡܡܐ ܕܢܚܘܢ ܠܡܫܠܡܘ ܚܛܗܝܗܘܢ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܡܛܝ ܕܝܢ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܪܘܓܙܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܚܪܬܐ
lkhrth' edm' rwgz' elyhwn dyn mTy bklzbn khThyhwn lmshlmw dnkhwn emm' em dnmll ln dklyn
forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

ܚܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܝܬܡܐ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܫܥܬܐ ܒܐܦܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܒܠܒܢ ܘܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܐܬܚܦܛܢ ܠܡܚܙܐ ܐܦܝܟܘܢ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ
sgy'' bkhwb' 'pykwn lmkhz' 'thkhpTn wythyr'yth blbn wl' b'pyn dsheth' zbn' mnkwn ythm' hwyn 'khyn dyn khnn
But we, brothers, being bereaved of you for a short season, in presence, not in heart, tried even harder to see your face with great desire,

ܘܨܒܝܢ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܢܐ ܦܘܠܘܣ ܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ ܘܬܪܬܝܢ ܘܥܘܟܢܝ ܣܛܢܐ
sTn' wewkny wthrthyn zbn khd' pwlws 'n' lwthkwn dn'th' wtsbyn
because we wanted to come to you—indeed, I, Paul, once and again—but Satan hindered us.

ܐܝܢܘ ܓܝܪ ܣܒܪܢ ܘܚܕܘܬܢ ܘܟܠܝܠܐ ܕܫܘܒܗܪܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܡܐܬܝܬܗ
bm'thythh yshwe mrn qdm 'nthwn 'n 'l' dshwbhrn wklyl' wkhdwthn sbrn gyr 'ynw
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Isn’t it even you, before our Lord Jesus at his coming?

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܢ ܘܚܕܘܬܢ
wkhdwthn thshbwkhthn gyr 'nwn 'nthwn
For you are our glory and our joy.
